Sending Love and Hope to Minnesota from Beautiful Vermont
Our first winter here in Vermont has been warmer than expected, more beautiful than expected and more filled with friendship and companionship than expected. It would be total bliss were it not for the constant steam of horror coming from back in Minnesota, where our own government’s attack on our former home town had caused friends to get maced at point-blank-range, in the face for doing nothing but peaceful protest; has caused other family and friends to fear leaving their homes, even thought they are white and US Citizens. We’ve been following along with you with our hearts in our throats every day.
To those in Minnesota, please know, and we will keep saying this: if you need anything, we are here to help. We have a cozy guest room, a sauna, beautiful wood stove and a shockingly peaceful setting, surrounded by wonderful people, if you need some time to de-stress and decompress.
We’re doing what we can to support in other ways, like our recent podcast about how the entire invasion of the Twin Cities was based on a lie. Watch that here:
We’ll keep following and hope you keep warm, keep hugging each other, keep helping each other and keep protesting. You are doing amazing things. The world is watching you right now and you are inspiring all sane minds. You should be proud of what you have done so far. Love you all! Stand tall and keep it up!
Applause! Applause! Applause! (wild cheering from your fans here in Vermont)

Really heartfelt message here. The idea of creating a physical sanctuary space when things get rough is underrated in activism circles. Back when I was involved in organizing, we learned that burnout prevention is actually stratgic, not just self-care fluff. Having somewhere safe to decompress can be the difference between people staying engaged long-term or dropping out entirely after a few intense weeks.
